So here are some photos from the Motor City Comic Con. Highlights of the day were meeting Edward James Olmos and being unable to say something at all witty and other then the following: “I’ll pick this one, spelling out my name, photo?, and So Say We All.” Also he got super close and I think my back and the rest of me was super sweaty. I think my brain has only just comprehended the fact that I met Edward James Olmos and I said nothing at all to him. /flail and /fail

I met the Sixth Doctor, Colin Baker and I had him sign my mini Tardis book. Hopefully one of many signatures for the future. I almost Lemon Lawed him as I had been by his booth twice and he was gone. He came running up just in the nick of time, guess he was running from those mean ol’ Daleks

Disappointments of the day. Not getting Norman Reedus’ signature = quest not achieved. The photo you see of him is about as close as I got. By the time we made it there his line had been cut off as he had to jet out at 3. He didn’t even make it the Boondock Saints Speaker panel which was just another set of hopes dashed away. Guess we’ll have to plan better for next year that is if he comes back to Detroit.

There were some others I either didn’t get photos of because my brain forgot or they weren’t there (likely) a Saturday only guest. Oh well maybe next year. Although hopefully by that time the Con will come a little more into the future. I have really wanted to purchase advance tickets, but their online form and way of doing it is completely archaic. Why do I need to fill out a PDF and fax it to you? Seriously you haven’t figured out a way to add a feature to your site that allows people to purchase tickets online and not have to fax in some form? I can’t even Email??

Also there were two snack kiosks from what I could see and one of them was nearly out of everything. Why only two?? You think being a convention center you’d have more options. I’ve been to the Convention Center for a whole different thing and yes my company paid a lot of money to send me there and I had the most delicious lunch served to me. Even quick kiosk food that you would likely over charge for should be easy to set up. I bet you would make more money if you tried outsourcing. Just saying.

My last gripe is that there was no foresight in the speaker panels. There were no microphone stands off to the side for people to get up and go ask their question. Instead you have an audience and guests struggling to figure out what is being said or asked. I know this is Detroit and all, but seriously get that shit sorted for next time.

Still it was awesome I had my friends there. Hubby was being lame and didn’t come. But he cut my grass and hopefully did his chores.

I have no idea when this is going to come out, but I really want to see it. Even if my brain realizes how much of a bad movie this is and how much a rehash of Pitch Black it except instead of a ship crew it is mercenaries. But Katee Sackoff is in it and I think I’d go just to listen to Vin Diesel talk. If we’re lucky maybe this will come out when we are scheduled to maybe see each other this year, you know if that happens at all this year.

Also. and I love you so imma gonna point this out… that was Urban as Varro with the big fucking guns. So there is that.

This is actually scarily accurate. it highlights how similar Sherlock and Moriarty are, in a way. They can both be inhumane, brutal. Only in Sherlock’s case it’s out of love (“inhumanity out of humanity”) while for Moriarty it’s perverse entertainment.
